7 Ways to Love on Your Single Self This Valentine’s.
Valentine’s Day can feel a little bittersweet when you don’t have a romantic partner to share it with. I know I’m feeling down and out at the moment as a newly single girl, but what’s helping me feel good, is loving on myself and the people around me.
If you’re reading this, I’m guessing you’re single too and need a little extra TLC during the most hyper-romantic month of the year. This season is the perfect time to pour into your own cup, celebrate your worth, and show yourself the love you deserve. I’ve put together seven ways to make yourself feel amazing this Valentine’s, whether you’re single, healing, or just embracing self-love.
1. Take Yourself Out for Dinner or Host a ‘Galentines’ Night
Dress up, take yourself out to a restaurant you’ve been eyeing, and bask in the joy of your own company. If you prefer a group vibe, invite your friends over for a home-cooked meal or takeaway, drinks, and laughter. Platonic love often gets overlooked but I think it’s one of the greatest forms of love if you open yourself up to it. My close friend hosted a Galentine’s dinner and it was so sweet to swap gifts and spend quality time with each other.
2. Buy Yourself a Thoughtful Gift
Valentine’s gifts aren’t just for couples. Treat yourself to something meaningful—a piece of jewellery, a luxury candle, or that skincare product you’ve been wanting. The act of gifting yourself reminds you that your own happiness is worth investing in.
3. Indulge in Self-Pleasure
You know I’m not shy to speak about vibrators and all the raunchy stuff so I am 100% advocating for you to do what needs to be done, okay? Intimacy isn’t limited to relationships; exploring self-pleasure is an act of self-care. Whether it’s through sensual movement, skincare rituals, or toys, this is about reconnecting with your body, boosting your confidence, and embracing pleasure on your terms. 4. Cook a Mood-Boosting Recipe
My heart is in my belly. I love a good meal. Your body thrives on good food, and certain ingredients naturally increase feel-good hormones. Make yourself a nourishing, libido-boosting meal—think dark chocolate, salmon, avocado, and berries. These foods support your mood, energy, and overall well-being.
5. Write Yourself a Love Letter
Take a moment to reflect on how far you’ve come. Write a letter to yourself expressing appreciation, love, and excitement for your future. Read it out loud or tuck it away to revisit whenever you need a reminder of your worth.
6. Have a Spa Night at Home
I’d like to think I’m the queen of self care and one thing I LOVE and have on a weekly basis is a bubble bath. Run yourself a hot bath, light some candles, and play your favourite playlist. Give yourself a deep skincare treatment, moisturise with a luxurious body butter, and slip into your softest pyjamas. Creating a sensual, calming environment is an easy way to reset and feel amazing.
7. Do Something That Makes You Feel Sexy
I recently told a friend who had been feeling a little stagnant that she needs to get the energy out by rotating her hips. As a woman, our bodies store so much energy that a solo slow whine in the mirror or twerking in the club will surely help you feel good. You can also book that solo trip, sign up for a dance class, or finally start that project you've been putting off. Confidence grows when you take bold steps towards the life you want. Remind yourself that you are whole, complete, and worthy—exactly as you are.
This Valentine’s, romance yourself and the people you care about. You deserve to feel and experience love in all forms. Let me know how you’ll be loving on yourself.
